Media in baseball

This blog I'm covering media in baseball, but I specifically want to cover last nights Cubs win to get to the World Series. Every team in the MLB does it, but they are the most recent. Now it's a good thing that they are going to the World Series for the first time since 1908, but I don't agree with the media and news covering the "after party" in the locker room. The way that I see it these guys are figures that younger kids look up to. They are seen popping bottles in the locker room and drinking beer. I think that is something's the media shouldn't cover. The reason why people look up to these guys and what are you teaching our youth? You win to drink? I know they're grown men, but you have to think that younger kids are watching this and you're yeah uhh them bad. That stuff should be behind closed doors. Now it's not all bad they covered a lot of good stuff they should just keep that stuff behind closed doors.

NFL and media

So there is a new story that is apparently rolling around the NFL. A colts player kneeled during the national anthem and here's the catch the next day he got released. Now was that the reason, maybe not, but that's what the media is being to be the number one cause. After all this had happened his wife took it to social media and started saying how bad it is that they did that. They still don't know the exact reason he got kicked off. I think the media is trying to bring it to be like Haha for attention to the NFL and to make people pay attention and watch football. A news source was talking about how the ratings for the NFL were down. You have to think theu are going to make these stories to get people to start watching again.

Colin Kaepernick and the media during the kneeling of national anthem

In blogs before this one I have talked about media and how they effect sports positively and negativity. With this blog I want to go more in depth with that and talk about a sports figure and him kneeling during the nation anthem to try to make a point, and what the media's role is in this process.A little background on the information, Kaepernick was the back-up quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. During preseason play this fall he decided to kneel during the national anthem to prove a point in all that is happening across the United States with all the police shootings and what not. He still is doing so up to this day and he was named starting Quarterback before their last game.
I want to now talk about how the media is playing an effect on this happening. The media, in my opinion, is bringing this up in a way that it looks like it is okay with what he is doing. My question is what does that teach the youth of America? There are teams all over the nation doing so from youth football to High School football all because the media is bringing a star in the NFL and showing what he is doing and no one has done anything about it. They say that he is trying to "bring justice and liberty to everybody", but i think it is not right at all. People fight for our freedom and justice all the time, but they don't mention that in the news or in any other media. All i am trying to say in this blog is that what he is doing is wrong in my opinion and the media is not helping.

Negative affect of media in sports

I have been blogging recently about how media impacts sports and their athletes in a good way. After watching a day of pro and college football i learned that isn't always true. The question of the day is does the media effect the players and their performance? I think that there is no answer to this question. You look at this from 2 point of views. One being that they read all the stuff the media brings on them to the people and yes some of it is bad and they have to play through this stuff. From the other point you have to look at it like they have 1 job and they shouldn't worry what people are saying or anything about them just play the game and do your job. Now I am no pro athlete, but just from a sports lover like I am they have to just ignore it and play the game. Not all of us are fortunate to do something we love in life and make millions doing it.

Media can be good in the sports world.

Media in the sports world is all over the place as I talked about in my last blog. This post I would like to talk about the good in the media in sports. Weather it would be social media or the news or whatever else kind of media, there is good to it. When you watch the news or even something like root sports or sports-center, everything you see on those shows are mostly covered by media or social media. But why do they allow that? Well I can tell you one thing. Social media and news coverage of an organization bring in a lot of money to that team or program. Every game they get on ESPN or national television, every advertisement they make for a company all brings in the big bucks for the team. Athletes all have social media to keep the fans up on what is going on in their life and that brings in more fans and more revenue for the team they play for. Jersey sales go up and teams make more money. All I am saying is that media can be good for a lot of teams and they do not just cover the bad things about the teams. Look for my next blog and I will counter this one and talk how media is bad on sports.
